Guy Turns NYC Apartment Into Arcade, Loses Fiancée

Guy Turns NYC Apartment Into Arcade, Loses Fiancée
OMG talk about going totqally crazy, this guy did just that and spend $32,000 converting his NYC apartment he shared with his girlfriend/Fiancee. It totally took him over and he started neglecting his girlfriend. That's a bad idea to begin with! Add that he was playing video games and spending a small fortune and you have the start of a major break up!

You can read the full story ABC News, there is even a few more pics. You would think a Manhattan PR exec, would know better then ignoring his woman!

Frank Zappa on The Steve Allen Show March 4,1963

Frank Zappa's first TV appearance? Not sure could be, nevertheless a very entertaining 14 minutes on the Steve Allen Show. Even then, Zappa as young as he was, was still Zappa, and of course Steve Allen was always a terrific host! Frank promotes his new record How's Your Bird & The Worlds Greatest Sinner movie and then plays a bicycle with Steve. Definitely fun for the whole family lol.

Elysian Fields - Lady in the Lake

Elysian Fields is an American band based in Brooklyn, New York, founded in 1995 by the co-composers Jennifer Charles (vocals, instruments) and Oren Bloedow (guitar). Their music has sometimes been described as "noir rock". I consider them avant garde. This song, "Lady in the Lake" is chilling, haunting, sedating, hypnotic, and exciting. Most of their work consists of using styles and images to portray a darker side of existence. Based in New York City, Elysian Fields have found underground success in the United States but are more popular in Europe. They have collaborated with such artists as Book of Knots another NYC experimental rock band and also Mike Patton who has been involved experimental alternative metal/alternative rock bands such as Tomahawk, Fantômas, Lovage, Mr. Bungle and best known for Faith No More.

Lenny Kravitz - Mr. Cab Driver

Can you tell Lenny Kravitz was influenced a little by the Velvet? Definitely avant-garde. One of my favorite songs/videos by Lenny Kravitz! Enjoy!

Andy Warhol Lou Reed Screen Test 1966

First it was the 50's brand of doo-wop rock, with the counter culture of the beatnics. Then came the Beatles and hippies along with the counter culture that would not have any part of those scenes. This was the pre-punk era or aka, "The Happening" or simply avant garde. Lou Reed and John Cale where credited for getting the Velvet Underground to move more towards avant-garde. Then along came Andy Warhol and became manager of the Velvet Underground and taught them to never compromise! This was more then music, it was art and we will no way let record companies tell us how to create our art or change it in any way. That's all they needed to become one of the most influencial bands of all time. The Doors were influenced by Velvet. Ironically, Lou Reed was originally influenced by Bob Dylan but the folk scene was considered too commercial and boring and with the direction of John Cale talked Reed in to going electric. Dylan after hearing what the Velvet was accomplishing also eventually decided to hang his folk guatar up and plug in. Other bands were influenced by the Velvet, too many to list here.

The Fugs First Album is the 1965 debut album by The Fugs, described in their AllMusic profile as "arguably the first underground rock group of all time". In 1965, the album charted #142 on Billboard's "Top Pop Albums" chart.

This song was released in 1984 from their album, "Refuse to Be Burnt-Out" ENJOY!
